Mumbai’s Air Quality Index marks an all time high of upto 300 in some areas, where Delhi has also reached this mark this winter. In some cities where 200 is marked as poor, and 300 is far more than “very poor”.
The winter deterioration in Mumbai is new to the city. As the city was considered immune to this phenomenon because of its coastal location. Delhi has been in this kind of situation for a decade now, but Mumbai is new because of some underlying conditions.
It was seen that because of the geographical location of Maharashtra‘s capital city, it won’t go far beyond in the AQI, but since last year, this trend was broken.
